Dan Houle

When injuries started to limit his ability to play golf, Dan sought out fitness and health professionals who could help identify the underlying causes.

A conversation with Dr. Greg Rose, co-founder of the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI), during a certification event in Toronto in May 2010, set Dan on a journey to learn more about fitness, conditioning and the mechanics of the golf swing. In the same year, Dan pursued his TPI Level-2 certification at TPI headquarters in Oceanside, California. He then achieved his Level-3 certification with Dr. Rose and Dave Philips, the other co-founder of TPI, just prior to attending the World Golf Fitness Summit 2010, which brought together over 500 fitness, health and golf professionals from around the world to Orlando.

Since December 2010, Dan has worked with hundreds of golfers in the Ottawa-Gatineau region, raising awareness to the importance of what he calls the three pillars of the golf swing: stance, dynamic posture and swing sequence; and how they are both interdependent and influenced by factors like sedentary lifestyles. -“You bring your everyday posture to the first tee”, is somewhat of a mantra for Dan.

In 2011, Dan became a technical adviser to K-Motion Interactive, Inc., developer of the K-VEST - a state-of-the-art 3-D motion learning system. He played a key role in the development of Dynamic Visual Training (DVT), which leverages external foci of attention for proper movement pattern acquisition. K-VEST DVT was very well received when launched at the World Golf Fitness Summit 2014, and continues to be a cornerstone of the platform.

In 2017, Dan decided to take another important step in his personal development and education by pursuing canfitpro Personal Trainer Specialist (PTS). He has since obtained additional certifications: 3-D Movement Analysis and Performance System (3DMAPS) through the Gray Institute; Fundamental Capacity Screen (FCS), Functional Movement Systems (FMS) and Y Balance Test (YBS) certifications through Functional Movement Systems.

Dan is an avid golfer and all-around sports enthusiast.
